After a tough loss in Game 1, the New York Yankees will turn to LHP C.C. Sabathia to keep them afloat in this series against the Cleveland Indians. The Cleveland Indians showed last night why they are heavy favorites to win the World Series, shutting down the Yankees’ explosive bats. However, C.C. is 9-0 on the season following Yankees losses and he certainly has had a resurgent season.
NYY: C.C. Sabathia: 14-5 3.69ERA
CLE: Corey Kluber: 18-4 2.25ERA
While the Indians hold the advantage as far as the starting pitcher is concerned, the Yankees have the stronger and well rested bullpen. The likes of Chad Green, David Robertson, and Tommy Kahnle will all be available tonight, while Andrew Miller likely won’t be after throwing 30 pitches last night. There is no doubt the Yankees will have their work cut out for them, but the Yankees have been feisty all year and will certainly battle. They will need Brett Gardner and Aaron Judge to see a lot of pitches and have good AB’s in order to win. Judge, going 0-4 with 4 strikeouts last night, has yet to show he can do that against Indians pitching. The Yankees will fight, but come up just short.
Game Prediction: Cleveland Indians 3, New York Yankees 2
