Who’s Hot …

The Cleveland Indians, Arizona Diamondbacks and Baltimore Orioles are among the hottest teams in baseball. The Indians are currently on an eleven game winning streak as they have expanded their division lead to 9 games over the Twins. Corey Kluber is leading the Tribe as he is making his case for the AL Cy Young. Everything is clicking for the Indians and they are looking like the team that I predicted to win the World Series. Another team who is just as hot as the Indians are the Diamondbacks. They are on a ten game winning streak as they have taken a commanding lead in the Wild Card. They also swept the almighty Dodgers in a 3-game series. Zack Greinke is leading all of baseball with 16 wins, while Paul Goldschmidt is mashing baseballs and coming for that NL MVP award. The Orioles have won eight of their last time games and have crept back into the AL Wild Card race. They are getting hot at the right time as they are only 1.5 games back of a Wild Card spot.

Who’s Not …

Those Colorado Rockies are really starting to lose it. They have lost four games in a row and are only a half game up on the Brewers for the second Wild Card spot. They have been playing awful baseball since the All-Star break. They once had a 12 game lead over everyone else in the NL for the second Wild Card spot. They saw that lead dwindle away very quick. The Dodgers, who are still the best team in baseball, have gone real cold. They got swept by the Diamondbacks and lost five straight games for the first time this season. They are currently on a three game losing streak as well. Giancarlo Stanton continues to mash homers, but the Marlins are starting to get cold. Luckily for them, the Rockies are maybe the coldest team in baseball right now, which is allowing the Marlins to stay in the hunt for a Wild Card spot.
