5 Things to Look For in Steelers Second Preseason Game

The Steelers looked good in their first preseason game against the Giants, but what should we look for in the second game against the Falcons on Sunday? Do not expect many starters to play but there are still many things to look for.

1) Martavis Bryant returns

Bryant has not been in a Steelers uniform in 19 months because of a suspension and he was not allowed in this year’s training camp until last week. All reports have it that looks awesome and has a much better attitude. If he stays out of trouble, he could have a monster year.

2) Will James Conner play?

Conner has been restricted due to hamstring and shoulder problems, which caused him to miss most of OTAs and training camp. He just recently returned to practice and has looked great. It is unknown whether his shoulder will prevent him from playing in Sunday’s game.

3) Is TJ Watt the real deal?

TJ Watt is having a great training camp so far and had a great first preseason game. This week it was revealed he will be the starter at OLB with James Harrison as the back up. Last week he had 2 sacks, 3 tackles and broke up a pass. Can he have another great game?

4) Will Joshua Dobbs improve?

Dobbs had a shaky first preseason game, starting with 2 interceptions and ending up with 100 yards passing and a touchdown. He has also been inconsistent in camp. Big Ben and Landry Jones will not be playing in this game so it will be Dobbs playing most of the game.

5) Who will remain at wide reciever?

The Steelers currently have an embarrassment of riches at wide receiver. Antonio Brown and Martavis Bryant are locks to be starters, but there is also Sammie Coates, Darrius Heyward-Bey, Eli Rogers, Justin Hunter, Marcus Tucker, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Demarcus Ayers and Cobi Hamilton. The Steelers will keep 6 or 7 of these players. Canaan Severin had a bad game and was cut. Who will stand out (or look bad) in this game?
