At the top …

We're getting used to just putting the Dodgers, Astros and Nationals in the 1, 2 and 3 spots. I mean is anyone going to take away the number one spot from the Dodgers? Yeah, probably not. They are on a historic pace. They're one win away from 80 and it is only August 7th! The Astros are the only other team in the majors with 70 wins, but they are still far behind the Dodgers. The Nationals are playing good baseball and they are separating themselves more and more from everyone below them. They are just not as good as the Astros and Dodgers. The Red Sox have caught fire after a slow week last week and have climbed back into our top 5. They are our biggest risers this week, moving up five spots. They are on a six game winning streak and have won 8 of their last 10.

At the bottom …

I did not want to do it, but the Phillies have finally moved out of dead last. The White Sox have been horrific. They are basically a minor league team playing against big league competition. They're on a six game losing streak and have lost 8 of their last 10. Don't get too excited Phillies fans, you only moved up one spot. The Phillies still suck. They have the worst record in baseball, but have shockingly been playing better baseball as of late. The Reds and Giants have sucked too. The Reds have just sucked a little more than the Giants.

Other Notes …

The NL West is still the best division is baseball. The Dodgers, Rockies and Diamondbacks are all in our top six. Only six teams in baseball have at least 60 wins. Half of those teams are in the NL West. The Dodgers are running away with that division, but it seems as if the Rockies and Diamondbacks are running away with the two NL Wild Card spots. We mentioned the Red Sox moved up the most spots, but there is another AL East team who is playing good baseball. No, it is not the Yankees. It is the Orioles! The Orioles have moved up 4 spots and into our top 15. They have won 7 of their last 10 games, while moving to within 2.5 games back of a Wild Card spot. Move over to the National League East and you will see one of the most disappointing teams in baseball this season, the New York Mess. I mean Mets. Injuries have killed them this season, but as of late they really have just sucked balls. Losing four in a row, albeit they just played the Dodgers. They have also lost 8 of their last 10. That is tied for the worst 10-game span in baseball right now with the White Sox. EW. They have dropped the most spots this week as they have fallen five spots.
