Warriors: 15 Man Roster

Bay Area, CA|After resigning veteran C JaVale McGee (per ESPN’s @ChrisBHayes), the defending champion Golden State Warriors now have fifteen guaranteed contracts on the books for the 2017-2018 season. Below is the final roster breakdown by position per the official team site Warriors.com.

While some position listings attempt to capture the versatility of some players, for these Warriors the categories just aren’t enough. The most glaring absence from the team’s official site is the F/C designation for reigning Defensive Player of the Year, Draymond Green. Any version of Steve Kerr’s Death Lineup has featured Green holding down the five. Well.

And as in years past, this Warriors team is loaded with offensive talent. It is no surprise that when starting three of the greatest shooters to ever play the game the defense will once again go overlooked. But when the Warriors repeat as NBA champions – which I am predicting in my inaugural post because as the great Ricky Bobby once said, “I play for keeps!” – they’ll do it with the execution of elite offensive and defensive units. Don’t @ me, bro.
