Philadelphia 76ers Off-Season Overview

The Philadelphia 76ers have had a solid off-season. I’m going to briefly go over their off-season moves with a timeline. Moves confirmed by:

Philadelphia 76ers Off-season Moves

June 18, 2017–Philadelphia agrees to trade the 3rd overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft to Boston in exchange for the 1st overall pick. Philadelphia goes on to pick Washington G Markelle Fultz on June 22nd with the 1st pick in the draft.

June 28, 2017–Sixers trade F/C Shawn Long to the Houston Rockets for cash considerations.

July 1, 2017–J.J. Redick agrees to sign a one-year, $23 million deal with the Sixers.

July 1, 2017–Former Boston Celtic Amir Johnson agrees to sign a one-year, $11 million deal with the Sixers.

July 2, 2017–Sixers waive G Gerald Henderson

July 4, 2017–European G Furkan Korkmaz agrees to sign a multiyear deal with the Sixers.

The Philadelphia 76ers seem to be making a playoff push that we NBA fans have honestly been waiting for for some seasons now. With their young core of Markelle Fultz, Ben Simmons, Dario Saric, and Joel Embiid, and now the signings of skilled veterans J.J. Redick and Amir Johnson, the Sixers look like a scary team to watch out for in the 2017-2018 season.
